2008 CHARLESTON DISTANCE RUN 15 MILE, 3-PERSON 15 MILE RELAY, 5K and WALKS of 5K & 10K SATURDAY, August 30, 2008, 7:30 am Charleston, WV - Virginia St E at Civic Center Dr Once again this year we have the awards for the top 2 Male & Female West Virginians, that don't place in any of the other individual award categories. See the table below for the cash amounts for these winners. We are also having the Relay Division again. Click the Relay Information tab at the top of the page to get to the Relay area. All the 2008 Charleston Distance Run events will, once again, use the chip timing technology to aid in timing the events. The chip is a device that will register a participant's time from the start line to the finish line and will not include time spent getting to the start. All event participants must attach the chip to his or her shoe prior to starting the race. A FEE OF $25 WILL BE CHARGED TO THOSE PARTICIPANTS WHO DO NOT RETURN THE CHIP. You must pick up your chip at the Charleston Civic Center after you pick up your race/walk packet. Instructions will be in your packet. If you have your own chip, you may use it, but you must bring it to the Civic Center to be scanned when you pick up your packet. If you do not wear an activated timing chip, you will not be recognized as a finisher in your event.
